2026-2027 Sports Registration starts May 16, 2025!
Calling all SHS Athletes! Registration for 2026-2027 SHS sports begin Saturday, May 16. Click here for more information on which sports are offered each season.
Fall sports: Begin on Friday, August 7th (Most sports will start on Monday, August 11) and will end in mid-November. This season Football will begin on Monday, August 3. Fall sports such as cross country, football, volleyball and water polo and will be conditioning over the summer. Please check the SHS athletic website for information on summer programs.
Winter sports: Begin on November 2nd - Both boys and girls basketball teams play in tournaments over Thanksgiving and winter break. Please keep that in mind when scheduling vacations
Spring sports: Begin on February 1st and will end in early to mid-May (Some spring sports will have tournaments during February break and many sports will have practice, please check with the coach of your sport.)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ATHLETIC REGISTRATION: Clearance for athletic participation is an on-line process. All families will need to create an account on Home Campus. All athletes must register for each sport that they intend to try-out for. All athletes will need a current physical (good for one calendar year) and medical history form, with all signatures, uploaded to athletic clearance. The Registration window for Fall sports will open May 16, 2026. Information regarding registration can be found on SHS-Athletics website
PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS: All athletes must have a complete Athletic Physical examination every school year. Physical Forms can be found here or on the SHS Athletic website. Physicals are good for one calendar year. We advise getting your physicals completed during the summer to ensure athletic clearance throughout the year. Please note that athletes will need a heart screening certification for the 26-27 school year. Heart Screening certifications will be provided by the LGSUHS district and are valid for 2 years. Upcoming dates will be posted on the school website. Athletes will be able to visit either school to complete the screening. Families can register for their heart screening on the Saratoga website or on the LGHS website.
HEALTH INSURANCE: The state requires all students who participate in sports to have health insurance. If a family does not have coverage, contact Mrs. Ybarra - aybarra@lgsuhsd.org - in the activities office to get information on school-provided insurance.
PE CREDIT AND SPORTS: Students will earn PE credit for sports played in their 10th, 11th and 12th grade years.
